MIRRORWORLD [MAGICAL THINKING]

A three-part folding and partially broken mirror is the backdrop to the juxtaposition on opposite panes of two sets of six black and white hand drawn images. Six authoritarian leaders sit alongside six contemporary scenes of disrupted lives; on the middle mirror, where you can also see yourself, are the words victims and oppressors. But it is the rulers who perceive themselves as the victims and blame others - people and places that are labelled as the threat to society, as the oppressors.
